    JEAN DUCHATELLIER

    Jean is a manager with the Con Edison Company of New York, one of the nation’s largest public utilities.

    In addition to serving as president of
    The Project, Jean is involved in many civic organizations, including Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Lebanon Lodge No. 54 (Prince Hall affiliate), One Hundred Black Men of NY and the American Association of Blacks in Energy. He has also served on the York College Advisory Board and as a student mentor.

    Jean was born in Port au Prince, Haiti. He has resided in Queens since 1975.

    Jean earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He received his Masters of Business Administration from Long Island University.

    RAY GAMBLE

    Ray is an experienced real estate property manager having spent more than two decades as an executive with private firms and a decade with the NYC Housing Authority.

    Ray has not let his retirement slow him down. In addition to serving on the Executive Board of
    The Project, he has served in leadership positions with the New York Urban League, NAACP, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and several local block associations.

    He has lived in the prestigious Addisleigh Park community in Southeast Queens for more than 40 years.

    Ray received his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications and Masters of Arts in Urban Studies from Queens College.

    EVERETT HOPKINS, ESQ.

    Everett is the founder and managing partner of the prestigious Hopkins Law Group L.L.C.,
    Based in Springfield Gardens, the Law Firm has served the greater New York community for more than three decades.

    Everett earned his
    Bachelors of Arts from Hunter College (City University of New York) and his Juris Doctorate from The Buffalo Law School, one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious law schools.
    Everett resides in Southeast Queens with his family.

    JEFF TERRY, CPA

    Jeff is a Certified Public Accountant. He is founder and managing partner of Accounting, Tax & Consulting Services specializing in small to medium business financial reporting and tax accounting.

    He received his
    Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and a Master of Science degree in Accounting from The State University of New York at Binghamton.

    Jeff is a fixture in the Southeast Queens community. In addition to serving on the Executive Board of The Project, he has served in various capacities with local organizations.

    EGON BROWN

    Egon is currently in vendor management for a major corporation.

    A veteran commercial insurance professional, Egon has served in various leadership positions − including Regional Claims Manager − for Fortune 500 companies.

    Egon received his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Rutgers University.

    ALDRIN ENIS

    Aldrin is a private banker with State Street Global Services.

    A Far Rockaway native, in addition to serving on the Executive Board of
    The Project, Aldrin is First Vice President of the One Hundred Black Men of New York, where he has served in various capacities including mentor of several young men attending the Eagle Academy school.

    Aldrin received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The State University of New York at Albany and his Masters of Business Administration from Seton Hall University.

    DAVID F. BLUFORD, ED.D
    (1932-2020)

    The 1906 Project honors the memory and many contributions of David to the organization, education and the community, including his annual David F. Bluford Student Appreciation Award, which helped many top local high school graduates with earning their college degree.

    David Franklin Bluford’s philosophy was to acquire knowledge for cognitive, academic, emotional, and spiritual development. He embodied this philosophy and mentored hundreds of families, friends, colleagues, and community activists in this philosophy.  One of David’s favorite philosophical quotes was by Confucius, “Choose the job you love, and you will never work a day in your life.”
    David Bluford was a living example of this philosophy. 

    David worked at every level of public education from teacher to assistant superintendent and college professor.

    Through his life-long commitment to education, David's personally impacted the lives of thousands of New York City school children, their families and communities.

    In honor of his many accomplishments, David was honored with a local Queens Street being renamed David F. Bluford Way.
    David’s civic involvement includes participation in the
    District 29 School Board, NAACP, Urban League, United Black Men of Queens, Guy R. Brewer Democratic Club of Queens and the Lebanon Lodge No. 54 in Jamaica.

    He was a graduate of
    Fayetteville State University and a long-time resident of the prestigious community of Addisleigh Park.
The 1906 Project, Inc., is a 501 (c)(3) registered New York State charity. The Project provides resources and technical expertise to individuals and not-for-profits serving Queens.
